Liz Wood
As an artist of many mediums, my practice exists as an exploration of art, music, and fashion - what I consider to be the pillars of expression. My work revolves around themes of youth, subculture, and introspection
After spending my childhood moving around the United States, I began my career in San Diego’s D.I.Y. scene. Displaying fine art, selling wearables, and coordinating creative events is where I became obsessed with the idea of creativity as a shared language.
I thrived in a realm where musicians, artists, photographers, designers, and writers seamlessly joined forces to form spaces and projects that transcended norms and nurtured a sense of community.
Following this, I spent two years in Portland, Oregon, studying intermedia art at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, where I refined my skills in varying art forms and techniques while aspiring to create inventive work that fused different media and methodologies.
Over the last four years, I have continued my interdisciplinary practice at The Fashion Institute of Technology, where I have unveiled and embraced my love for conceptualizing and learned to use outlets such as art direction and styling to bring thoroughly researched ideas to life.
Operating from the belief that all artists can learn from each other's mediums, I aspire to be a vessel for this fusion of expression.
