Macro Trend Forecast
This exhibition showcases the work of the senior BFA students in their thesis capstone course. Working in teams, the students conducted research and forecasted nine trend stories under the macro trend Equipoise, targeting specific markets in the apparel and home industry. After creating inspiration boards and color palettes for each concept, the students worked collaboratively to art direct, style, and produce original photography and digital renderings.
In addition, they sourced materials and finishes and fabricated a customized three-dimensional extension of their trend.
Finally, the students have showcased their work in a visual display format that will be on view from May 13 - 25, 2025, at the FIT Art and Design Gallery, Pomerantz Art and Design Center.

Artist Statement
Equipoise is a nine-scene animation exploring the balance between nature and technology. Two figures, one rooted in nature and the other a humanoid machine, awaken simultaneously, symbolizing their interconnectedness. Created using Blender 3D, Substance Painter, and Final Cut Pro, the work blends organic and synthetic textures to reflect harmony through contrast. The accompanying logo visually unites the two figures, representing their connection as one force in balance.
